Holding on

Living in darkness, I stray from the light.
Avoiding the stares, I stay out of sight.
Broken apart, I'm ready to die.
But only for him am I willing to try.

Only for him do I dare come to life.
Only for him do I try to survive.
Fearful I'll fall, I grab into him tight.
Not wanting to fail to remain alive.

His love makes my heart and soul revive.
But fear pushes back and darkens the light.
Sealing my lips, my heart begs me fight.
Afraid that I'll lose my strength to the knife.
