The world is dark
With shadows
From hidden light

The light we search for
The light we all crave
All of us.
Everyone.
But me.

This light you wish for
How are we to know 
it won't only singe our skin
Our vulnerable skin.
The skin that is so used
to the coolness of the dark

How are we to know 
This lighted happiness
Won't only bring us more pain
And rid us of the numbness
That the cold has brought upon our hearts
