Temptress

I fell asleep
and she came to me
out of the darkness
into my dream.
A temptress from hell
climbing on top of me.

I wanted to cry when 
I looked into her fiery eyes
because I knew it was
my time to die.

I felt her jagged fingernails
tearing the flesh from my chest, 
then move down into my heart,
slowly ripping it apart.

I tried to scream,
but I was catatonic 
in my dream.
