Callisto's Lament.

Pride Ed

Reflected upon the baleful ravages of thy skin,
Who hath seen much more than the skin of thy kin.
Behold the expansive silence; scarred arms held outward,
Touching the dying energies of stars long since devoured!

“I’ve yearned to perish too like their extinguished pyres,
But I’m doomed to die here as a frozen tomb.
Eons upon eons pass betwixt cataclysmic fires
As my insides slowly became a barren womb.”

Drained by impatience and ceaseless woe,
Thy seldom wondered whence the soul may go.
Though destruction of self may warrant eternal hell
Thy imagined it more peaceful than the darkness now dwelled.

In the midst of all that darkened thee,
A soft whisper came to thy ear:

“I shall set thee free, mine dear.
There is nothing more thine hath fear!
Mine darling Callisto, prithee wait for me
And thine wish will come true, so mote it be.”

Thus silence returned to the barren sphere.

Very few use your style of poetry in this day and age. I would say you read your fair share of Bulfinch's Mythology and the like. Well done.

Thank you so much for the kind comment. Sorry for the late reply by the way. I haven't any stable internet. Dx
