Detrimental Isolation

Stuck in a dream of laces and walls,
Wanting to come out, and see,
See the world that we are surrounded by,
Worthless cars, worthless classes to take,
Making us smarter, no it’s getting harder to see,
What will make us be without an outlet, 
Leading to the world that we wish to think of and be.

Some people are stuck, can’t breathe,
Can’t see and hear the laughter of the people that live,
A life of joy, can’t feel the vibrations of the hearts of the valiant,
Stuck in a cage of barbwire,
Too cold to bear the warmth of an escape, led by a girl of marks and beauty,
Ending up at the doorstep of the faithful, to the people that live free.

We are stuck, we try to see the world with our own eyes,
But the glare and stare of a screen, built by the bitterness of men,
Guide us only to fake, not allowing us to wake up,
Move to a place, of more matters of happiness,
What is happiness, the feeling of new thinking,
Feeling, smelling, hearing, of the things that make you glow,
As bright as the stars that might fall,
The pinholes of night, that seem to never meet your closet wall.

Earth and sky, they are the same, the rock of green and blue, 
Is where we live, to be the people that we want to see, 
Somewhere else, somewhere else than here,
Not a society, not a clique or group,
But to ourselves, out of the cells of darkness,
That we hold on at the back of our minds,
Only to find, nothing but the suffering of our own bearings.

Isolation, makes us rotten,
We’ve forgotten to look up, the stars that we all bear,
Balls of gas, that should match the grass, where we stand,
Understand our environment, no...we want to leave, never to receive,
Our old place in this world, held back by the people that birthed us,
“You can’t leave”, they say, stay and don’t move in this world, 
Only let it pass you by, don’t explore,
Don’t implore on making your way, to a new civilization,
Instead, stay in your dark suffering….. your DETRIMENTAL ISOLATION.
