Heart of Night

The heart of the night is such a sight.
With every beat your soul asleep.
In the gloom, may mark your doom.
Your darkest fears unite.

Shadows take the form of light.
The moon in late noon.
Still marks your doom.
For words can't express to pain of day.
For lingering eyes burn from light.

Day is gay, but my light is Night.
Darkness lingers in the light.
Darkest night to my delight.
