She snapped awake out of a deep sleep, screaming aloud in terror. In her nightmare, a large white wolf had been chasing her around and around the house, gaining on her with every step until it finally pounced on her and ripped out her throat. She lay shaking for hours, unable to sleep after such a terrifying dream.
But morning finally arrived, and the day was completely normal. Celia forgot all about her dream, until the moment her parents reminded her that they would be going out that night to celebrate their anniversary. Celia turned milk-white. In her dream, the white wolf had come to kill her while her parents were out celebrating their anniversary! She started shaking and begging them not to go. Her parents were astonished at her behavior, and finally shamed her into staying home alone that night.
Fearfully, Celia locked herself into the house as soon... [Read More]

He waited in the night like a trapdoor spider, ready to lunge at the first insect to pass by. He didn't care if his subject was male or female, he could work with both. He saw movement in the corner of his eye. A young female came up the sidewalk, dressed for a night at the club. As she passed by he jumped out of the alleyway wrapping his arm around her pulling her in. He quickly chloroformed her as he ducked back into the darken alleyway. She was out cold instantly and he laid her on the ground binding her feet and hands with rope. He then gagged her and blind folded her, leaving only sound and touch as her allies. He threw her into the back of the van and shut the doors quietly. He was all the way on 4th street when she started to stir. She... [Read More]

The black sky smelt of burning wood, and campfires. The aging mans hair was damp. He had not hurt anyone in so long but the pressure in him was building. He loved doing it. The way it made him feel. Then again in 1581 you could kill much easier without being caught. He walked to the edge of the forest. His head pulsed, he dropped to the forest floor and began to hyperventilate. He was sweating from his forehead and his neck. He dropped his travel bag, and his remaining water spilled into the dirt as he collapsed.
When he awoke His eyes were weary, and very cold. His pupils grew tiny. He stood from the ground and picked up nothing, he walked to the closest house. A small cottage. Inside he found a small sword. And a man sleeping. A farmer most likely. He looked at him strangely and... [Read More]

She lived deep in the forest in a tiny cottage and sold herbal remedies for a living. Folks living in the town nearby called her Bloody Mary, and said she was a witch. None dared cross the old crone for fear that their cows would go dry, their food-stores rot away before winter, their children take sick of fever, or any number of terrible things that an angry witch could do to her neighbors.
Then the little girls in the village began to disappear, one by one. No one could find out where they had gone. Grief-stricken families searched the woods, the local buildings, and all the houses and barns, but there was no sign of the missing girls. A few brave souls even went to Bloody Mary's home in the woods to see if the witch had taken the girls, but she denied any knowledge of the disappearances. Still,... [Read More]

I awoke this morning with a feeling of peace. It was eerie. My coffee maker emitted a familiarly delicious aroma. My eyes crusted over with the dust of sleep would not function properly until the first cup of rejuvenation had been ingested. I stumbled from my room down the long green carpeted hallway, Cursing the day from under my breath. The sunshine danced happily across the floating speckles in the air and leaped from the window sill to the carpeted living space. Somethings should be forced to wait until the afternoon, I thought.
I ransacted the cupboard for my cool black mug, and moved religiously towards the maker of the sweet brown nectar of gods. The kitchen linoleum was chilly. This is an odd occurence in the summer. I tripped over my wifes cat who had been rummaging through some of my old college papers. The gray dwarf cat would... [Read More]

The first time I heard it, I thought it was just the house settling, either that or I had dreamt it. I was about half asleep, lying across the bed, boots still on my feet; half clothed, I had slept where I’d fell. A half empty can of Budweiser beer sat on the mock oak end table next to the bed; a beady layer of sweat now it's own makeshift koozy. The sound that had pulled me from my sweet abyss was a cross between the sound of someone trying to kick in my front door and the sound you hear when you head butt a soccer ball. I got up and turned down the television, Jay Leno was doing his monologue and laughing at his own jokes as usual, so I did not mind one bit decreasing the volume. I made my way to the window and looked out... [Read More]
